Prakruti : Bhavans Nature Festival
‘Prakruti’ is an annual 3-day festival launched to provide a platform for exchange and interaction between silent or unheard Nature-lovers, Students and Veterans in the field of Nature and Environment Protection.
Organisers expect this forum to display best of the environmentally beneficial lifestyles, technologies and science projects for betterment of humanity and our delicate planet.
This is Mumbai’s Unique Nature Festival, the one of its kind, initiated by Mr. Himanshu Prem Joshi with the encouragement of Shri Lalit Shah in the Bhavan’s campus, Andheri has attracted about 83,000 people in 5 years.
Every year Prakruti organises & displays a wide variety of shows, workshops, demonstrations, adventure, art, culture, travel, literature, dances, plays, etc that relate with Nature and Environment.
Prakruti is an innovative platform, the number 1 nature festival in the city, where all work religiously towards promoting the dying importance of nature and its marvels, where each strength, each energy is channeled and manifested into all things worthwhile bringing about a powerful workforce and a galvanizing festival in turn.
The Festival is conducted at the picturesque sprawling campus of BNAC, located in Bhavans Campus, Andheri. The festival uses different nooks and corners of BNAC for different kinds of activities, be it literary, theatre, adventure, or just a nature walk .
Bhavans Nature and Adventure Centre
Bhavan’s Nature & Adventure Centre, created on a prime green niche along a lake, harbours about 300 plant species, 55 bird species, 40 butterfly species and many other living creatures forming a little eco system by itself right in the middle of 20 million populated metro of Mumbai, just 15 minute walk from
the bustling Andheri railway station.
BNAC, the official partner of UNITED NATIONS DECADE ON BIODIVERSITY, offers Environment Study, Biodiversity Nature Trail with Medicinal Plants, Animal Care sessions, Adventure activity, Re-Use craft, Vegetable garden, Butterfly spot and several such programmes, workshops and activities for the youth and children. Leadership sessions for Management students, outbound training for Corporate employee groups, Fun Sunday for Families, Birthday Party plans and outstation School Camp packages are also gaining popularity at BNAC. The Centre has been visited by over 30,000 school students from all over Mumbai by now.

This Centre is a unit of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a 75 year old Charitable Educational Trust recognised by the Government of India as a Centre of National Eminence.
